My experience having my daughter Zaid at first steps of life was nothing short of amazing. My daughter attended First steps of life from age 2-5. As a first-time mother I was very apprehensive about sending my baby to daycare and I did lots of research on different facilities. A lot of places stood out but when I came across First steps of life I just had to set up an interview. All my jitters went away when talking to Mrs. Teresa about enrollment. The doctors said my daughter had a speech problem. I told Mrs. Teresa this and she tailored Zaid’s learning path. Within a week my baby was taking her time to pronounce her words more clearly at just 2 years old. She truly knows how to teach children. Zaid left First Steps of life to continue her education at Pulaski Academy Private School where they were overjoyed with how much Zaid learned from First Steps of Life. Not just reading, art, math and writing but comprehension skills, communication, patients, critical thinking, problem solving, peer to peer interactions, and even some Spanish and sign language. I also love how one year for Christmas she gifted all the students ABC books with them as the main characters. There’s just so much good I could say. The only “bad” thing was I wish my daughter could stay longer lol. But First Steps of Life truly accelerated her to the next level in her schooling.

My youngest son needed a place to go during the day when he turned 1 year old. We were referred to First Steps of Life and Mrs. Teresa by a family friend. It didn’t take us long to realize this was the best decision we ever could have made for our son. Not only was he treated like one of her own children, but he was taught so much before he left her care to start kindergarten. He was beyond prepared for school when he began and has thrived ever since, and the main reason for that is the time he spent with Mrs. Teresa! Ms. Teresa is a wonderful woman to have for daycare services. She took such good care of my son while he was in her care and if I have another baby, I will be asking for her help again! It would be hard for me to believe that there is a better daycare in North Little Rock than First Steps of Life. My son attended this daycare from roughly six months old until he left for kindergarten, and during those years I was able to see firsthand what a phenomenal teacher Ms. Teresa was. She was consistently well-prepared each week with activities and lessons that kept my son engaged and made learning fun. Beyond that, she maintained order in the classroom, kept me updated daily on how my son’s day went and what they learned, ensured his safety, and genuinely cared for him. My son loved her, and it was clear that she loved him as well. By the time my son entered kindergarten, he was truly set up for success. He excelled in kindergarten and continues to excel in school to this day. This is a direct result of the foundation Ms. Teresa provided at First Steps of Life, a teacher with over 30 years of experience who clearly loves her work and deeply cares about her students.

From 2014 to 2018, my oldest daughter attended First Steps of Life, and our experience exceeded all expectations. She was very shy and quiet when she started, but through the nurturing environment, she achieved all of her developmental milestones and was fully prepared for kindergarten. Mrs. Teresa encouraged the children to express their feelings and gave them a safe space to be heard. Because of Mrs. Teresa’s teaching, my daughter is now above grade level in reading and enrolled in advanced classes. The love Mrs. Teresa shows to her students is truly unmatched. Even now, my daughter visits Mrs. Teresa every year to bring her an appreciation gift. My youngest daughter also attended First Steps of Life from 2021 to 2024, and we had the same wonderful experience. She developed a love for learning, especially math—and grew into a confident leader during her time there. I highly recommend First Steps of Life because the care, love, and learning your child receives will stay in your heart forever.
